Medicinal Mushrooms

Organo™ Organic Certified Ganoderma Spores provides antioxidants and micronutrients to support good health.

Key Ingredient

Organic Ganoderma Lucidum Spore Powder are the seeds of the Ganoderma lucidum. The shell of the Ganoderma lucidum spore is as hard as the shell of a coconut, and requires special care to crack open and capture the spores at the right time. There is also a second inner layer and not all companies ‘double crack’ the shells to release the most important part of the spore.

The fruit body of the fungi matures after 5-7 months to release numerous Ganoderma spores through minuscule pores present at its base. There are different components of the Ganoderma mushroom – the spores (seeds ready to pollinate), the Mycelium (early harvest, these threads have their own unique properties) and the lucidum (the mature plant).

The spores are considered amongst the most important of rare antioxidant sources. The shell-broken spores of Ganoderma lucidum mushroom are a revolutionary scientific discovery.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • The Ganoderma lucidum mushroom has a long and prestigious history — and has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for thousands of years, making it one of the oldest mushrooms known to have been used medicinally. The spectacular mushrooms, with a shiny orange cap and long brown stem, grow naturally in the heavily forested mountains of China.

  • Organo Gold grows its Ganoderma Lucidum mushrooms high in mountains of China’s FTK region, then it is processed in a state-of the-art $240 million facility in the Fujian Province of China. Our talented food technologists transform the woody caps and stems into a fine, flavorless powder. Which means your cup of OG coffee has ALL of the benefits of this amazing mushroom, but NONE of the taste!

  • In short, no! Well, you could, but it may not taste great. While they have been used for literally thousands of years in Chinese medicine, these particular mushrooms are more suited to herbal/medicinal use, not culinary creations. But of course, many of the end products are amazing ingredients in recipes.

  • Ganoderma lucidum is the quiet achiever — it may not always take center stage, but it is incorporated in every Organo Gold product. Yes —even the hot chocolate. Yes —even the toothpaste! And of course the coffee, tea and nutraceutical products.

  • Primarily, the OG Spore Powder product is intended for use as a nutraceutical product, which means you just swallow the capsule whole, as you would any other vitamin or supplement capsule.

  • Ganoderma is often regarded as safe for regular consumption, but individual responses can vary. It is advisable to start with lower dosages and observe how your body reacts. Before incorporating Ganoderma into your routine, especially if you have existing health conditions, it's recommended to seek guidance from a healthcare professional.

  • While Ganoderma is generally well-tolerated, consultation with a healthcare professional is advised, particularly if you have concerns about potential interactions with medications.

  • Ganoderma is sometimes used for its potential immune-supporting properties and may contribute to overall well-being. It's important to note that while it is not guaranteed as a preventive measure, incorporating Ganoderma into a balanced lifestyle might complement your wellness efforts.
